Don't go out there,it's an AMBUSH.

Read up and see why tokyo is still the bizness and why were still playing catch-up.

The Tokyo-based design collective was started in 2002 by Young-Kee "VERBAL" Yu and YOON. Inspired by the phrase "ANYTHING GOES", they draw ideas from the many creative outlets in Tokyo to produce original designs.

In 2004 they launch the jewelry brand, Antonio Murphy & Astro. Using 18K gold, platinum, diamonds and other precious stones, they designed their own comical renditions of the mainstream Hip Hop jewelry popular at the time. Their diverse range of fans include celebrities and discriminating buyers alike, in and out of Japan.

In 2008 they launched AMBUSH, the second line to Antonio Murphy & Astro.

AMBUSH is more experimental using different types of metals, stones, plastics, etc., to express yet another realm of jewelry design.

When they are not designing, VERBAL is a MC/ producer of the music group m-flo and TERIYAKI BOYZ, and YOON is a DJ/ stylist/ and also PR for BBC/ ICE CREAM.

Nike makes kicks for Robots too.

Undoubtedly cool, I present the latest masterpiece by Junk Art specialist Gabriel Dishaw. Thats right folks, what you see is a men’s size 9.5 Nike shoe consisting entirely out of junk. Dishaw noted that he utilized very little wire in exchange for glue to keep the piece more clean and less bulky. He also added new details such as a hinged tongue and nike logo’s on both the tongue and back of the shoe. And whereas on previous iterations he used a real nike sole, with this piece he started from scratch and build the sole from circuit boards. Not to shabby right folks?

I want a pair so bad, they're so freakin flicky.

He also sculpted a pair of Premium Blazers, made from scratch out of nothing but junk.

The Upper Playground April series of New Era caps includes two new styles – one featuring the art of David Choe, and the other a variation of the UP logo.

The David Choe Mural hat features a sublimated print of various David Choe illustrations on satin. The sublimation print technique allows for the fine lines and shading of Choe’s drawing to really come through – no details are lost. The Choe Mural New Era also has a matching hoodie that features the same illustrations on the shoulder panels.

If you’re a fan of the artwork, it’s also available on a
messenger bag in an orange print.
